To be the objective one again in regards to DF:UW. If you look at that guy's previous list on http://www.forbes.com/sites/erikkain...t-for-in-2013/ he listed his top 12 of 2013 to be launched. And then went on to talk about
I’m not actually sure whether this is going to come out in 2013 (and honestly, with the nightmarish development involved in putting together an MMO, maybe none of these will come out in 2013 except the ones that, you know, already have) but it looks really cool.
So this writer obviously knows of how bad it is to develope an MMO vs a solo play game. Solo play games follow a storyline. MMOs have to take into consideration the community that will be playing it and the parts in the storyline they will play. With DF's community being ranked #1 for most immature pathetic community in MMO history for the 3rd year in a row in PC Gamer its no wonder the doom and gloom that is all over the the forums. I remember playing MO, EvE, Shadowbane, GW, Vanguard, Lineage, Lineage 2, Horizons(Istaria), and UO beta and they all had much more rockier starts then DF:UW has already had. The only difference is we have a community full of immature retarded 4th graders whose parents did a little to much crack while pregnant with them. I've stayed away from the forums, and over the last month have played in 4 other open betas for upcoming MMOs. DF:UW is, by far, the most stable system thus far....the most in depth pvp MMO out and coming out.....and the dev teams on the other sites don't give out any more info then AV has been giving out. The only difference is that the dev teams on the other MMO sites are chatting on the boards with the players as their peers but never giving out any info on developement so I guess that counts as "communications" that eases the masses.

I remember UO's beta was never up longer then 3 hours at a time before crashing, and everyday your account was wiped because they couldn't store your account info on the server because of memory storage issues. Shadowbane's beta vs launch were completely different games and the lag was so bad that people called the banes slideshow combat. EvE's beta was canceled twice because of data corruption and complete server crashes. Vanguard's beta was so dreadful that it made the grind at DF launch look like insta leveling. Horizon's beta testing wasn't all that bad, but then the game plummetted and they renamed it Istaria and were forced to eventually make it free to play. Aion flopped months after its supposedly successful beta testing(even though no beta tester played at launch because of how terrible it was). Age of Conan, Warhammer, GW1 all had horrible betas....but that is all they were....BETA.

Point is Darkfall Unholy Wars is head and shoulders above where any other MMO is or typically is at the beta testing stage. DF's community is just full of cry bab and whiners that I personally would like to beat the shit out of because of all the god damn crying that I hear. As PC Gamer, MMORPG, VisciousPC Mag and various other gaming sites/magizines say....."Darkfall is supposedly for the hardcore gamers but is full of the whiny little bitches of the online world."

The list posted on the site above show some promise, but all those games have fallen on thier rough times. One was bought out by a korean company and won't launch in the US anyway. Archaeage can't be played on beta in the US without a cracked key for right now and won't launch with a US based server for quite awhile. 2013 has a lot of MMOs coming out but so did 2010 and all but 2 of them are still running right now.

Also if you can get in I suggest trying Age of Wushu while you wait for DF:UW. Black Desert beta doesn't even start until July of this year and I think only opens in Korea for it(i've tried to pre-register for the beta but it won't allow for our area). Age of Wushu is fun and beta started in December for it. Neverwinter Online seems to be an alright game but not open world pvp...and if you like the D&D settings. DF:UW, however, is still above those games in its potential, in its open world pvp, and in its overall game play.

Another game that I have been following since DF1.0's launch that I saw on that Forbes's list is called Bless. Its another Korean MMO but it has player housing system in it and suppose to have pvp in it similar to that of Shadowbanes where its not full loot but inventory loot. I was reading about it the other day as a matter of fact and thought this paragraph was interesting:
BLESS will be a F2P MMORPG that first made its debut at G-Star 2011. BLESS began development in 2009 with a team of 150 experienced designers by Korea-based Neowiz Games. Plans are now in place to have a closed beta test in the first half of 2013 in Korea. The world of BLESS is brought to life with the award-winning Unreal 3 Engine and will provide state-of-the-art graphics.
Now their dev team is many times larger then AV's dev team is and AV has only been working on UW since 2011 and already in beta testing. Bless isn't due to have closed beta for Korea only until mid 2013.
